EPIC.LAN enlist virtuosic violinist for dazzling display

EPIC.LAN has bolstered the spectacle for EPIC 44 with the announcement that Lucia “The Nerd Violinist” La Rezza will treat the EPIC 44 crowd to a virtuosic display of her musical talents. Music fans will have to make sure they set up their PCs nice and early on Thursday to ensure they don’t miss out on the performance, which will be part of the opening ceremony of EPIC 44.

La Rezza is best known for her YouTube channel which features violin arrangements of some of the most iconic soundtracks from games, films and television as well as renditions of classical music with a metal twist. La Rezza also posts short-form content on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Posting her initial content in 2010, she has had several viral hits including music from games such as Undertale, Bloodborne and (EPIC.LAN favourite) Overwatch. Since then she has gone on to record music for video games, both as an enlisted musician and as the original composer of the soundtracks.

We asked EPIC.LAN for comment on the musician’s exciting inclusion and heard back from Tom “Gumpster” Gumbleton, EPIC.LAN League Operations Manager.

EPIC.LAN always has been looking at ways to improve the overall participant experience at events, and we started this journey with our successful first time of having the Dark Room at our Summer event in July earlier this year. Jon [winbar] has been keen to add to this experience especially after the feedback was incredibly positive from event esports attendees at the event. Jon then came across “The Nerd Violinist” whilst at another event, enjoyed her performance immensely, and decided to get the conversation rolling for her to open EPIC44 next year on stage.

Hopefully Lucia will be able to light up the Kettering Leisure Village and take us on a wonderful journey of gaming music that we all know and love.
